What is the ANSM?
In 2006 the Queensland Supra Club decided to attempt a long weekend cruise to Coffs Harbour to spice up our events calendar for the year.
As excitement built we invited along some of our friends from NSW and ACT and before we knew it we had 30 people together drinking, laughing and having a heap of fun - plus 15 odd Supra's.
There was so much enthusiasm towards the weekend that everyone wanted to do it again, so in 2007 we ran the event again - this time at Port Macquarie and our attendance nearly doubled with 50 people and 30 Supra's. In 2008 the attendance reached 74 people with 55 vehicles!
The event was originally called COOFFS, due to a spelling mistake on a promotional glass we found in Coffs Harbour, but after the success of the 2nd year we renamed the event to the Australian National Supra Meet and vowed to continue the tradition each year, slowly growing the event piece by piece.
The ANSM is not a car show, it is a social meet for Supra owners, their friends and partners. Hence the word meet in the title. It is also understandably hard to pick a location which suits everyone in Australia due to it's vast size.
Events
As can be expected, somewhere in the midst of the first ANSM (Coffs Harbour, 2006) some rivalry sprung out between QLD and NSW and we've tried to harness this fun by arranging activities which allow us a little interstate competition.
A typical ANSM weekend includes:
- Skirmish
- Golf
- Group Dinner
- Group Photoshoot
- BBQ
- Supra Enthusiast Bonding
- Shenanigans.... ;)
It's a social weekend, that can be as good as you want it to be, with great people!
